Winter table decorations can be tricky to choose. You don’t want your tablescape to look too holiday but also don’t want it to feel too spring-y. You’re hoping to give it the cozy factor but you don’t want it to be too visually heavy either. Such a dilemma – especially if you’re like me and totally overthink these things! haha
I recently set a tablescape with “winter white” as the inspiration. While it was for our Christmas Eve dinner, I think it would work perfectly for any winter dinner party.
Using lots of textures in a monochromatic color palette, I really loved how it turned out. Hopefully you can find some inspiration to help you set the table for your next winter sit down meal.

Winter Table Centerpieces

This monochromatic centerpiece combo of faux fur, soft gold, and velvet is so dreamy and cozy, especially when the lights are low and the candles are lit.
Faux fur table runners are a great option for winter table centerpieces. This one I found on sale at At Home and is no longer available. However, there is a nearly identical one here that comes in multiple lengths so you can choose what fits best on your table.

In addition to the tablerunner, the centerpiece includes three fluted ceramic trees in a matte white finish (similar). I placed them alternating between gold taper candle holders (similar) in varying heights. In each gold candle holder, I used rope taper candles (similar), which is a fun and trendy twist (no pun intended!) on typical non-textured taper candles.
To add some additional low light, I used pillar candles in glass hurricanes wrapped with a brown velvet ribbon. Then, I finished the look with small fluted tea light holders at each end.
Winter Table Place Settings

Sometimes less truly is more, and that was the approach I took with these winter table place settings. Using my favorite stoneware plates from Target, I topped each with a folded white napkin trimmed with gold (similar). Then, I placed a sprig of fresh greenery (from my backyard) on top of each napkin. If you don’t have access to fresh greenery, you can always use faux, like this set of cedar stems.
Then, on either side of the plate I used my go-to gold flatware from Amazon. I really love the soft matte finish and weight of them. They are an incredible value, and I use them year-round because they work with so many different table decorations.
Lastly, I gave each place setting a wine glass and water glass (similar). I have talked about both of these in other posts (like this one and this one). They are a favorite for a reason, though. They truly are so versatile and super reasonably priced. I also liked the contrast between the ribbing of the water glass with the clear of the wine stem. However, they work together because they have a similar squared shape.
