Valentine’s Day gifts for daughters can be a lot of fun to shop for. At the same time, it can also feel like just one more thing on your already full plate. You want to make the day feel special with a couple sweet gifts thoughtfully packaged, but lack time to get it done. As a mom of three girls, I completely get that! Or you might have the time but need a boost of inspiration to find just the thing. I’ve been there too feeling lost and unsure what to gift.
No matter which reason, this post can serve as a timesaver and thought starter.
I’ll share with you what I’m giving my daughters (ages 5, 10, and 14) for Valentine’s Day this year, including links to shop.
Speaking of my daughters’ ages, they are in three different stages – preschool, middle school, and high school. Besides a couple of the items, I was able to find things that would work for all three. This serves two purposes: 1) it cuts down on gift finding time and 2) they can match, which I LOVE (maybe you are the same with your girls!?).
Okay, enough intro. Let’s shop!

Valentine’s Day Gifts for Daughters
While it might seem overindulgent, I love giving my daughters gifts for Valentine’s Day. Truth-be-told, I take any excuse to shop for them.
While as a general rule we don’t buy much more than what they need throughout the year, we go all out when there is a holiday, accomplishment, or occasion to celebrate!
That being said, I am also a pragmatic gift giver. Here are the ground rules I impose on myself when putting together baskets like this for my daughters:
- No throw-away, gimmicky stuff
- Blend of items they need and want
- Nod to the holiday/occasion without being specific to it
- Mix items from small businesses and larger brand names
Valentine’s Basket Packaging Ideas
First, I like to make the gift basket itself useful. This year, I hopped on the retro jelly bag bandwagon. How darling, right!? I could not resist. And I think the baskets themselves are useful after the fact as pool and beach bags.
Additionally, I ordered the personalized wood heart tags from an Etsy business. My girls can use them as decor in their rooms year round (like on a bulletin board), since hearts can technically transcend Valentine’s Day. Right!?
Also, in case you’re wondering, the felt banner is from an Etsy shop called Pearl & Jane. Quality is impeccable. Can’t wait to order more for other holidays! (btw – I also used this exact one on my daughter’s 5th birthday tablescape.)
Lastly, a DIY pennant for each basket is the finishing touch. These exact pennant printables can be found in my Etsy shop, also called Hostessology.
2022 Valentine’s Day Gift Baskets
Next, let’s dive into the specifics of what went in the Valentine’s gifts.
You might find it useful to see some overarching categories for gift ideas. So that’s how I am organizing this list.
Then, underneath each category, I’ll share specifically the item I chose and why. Some of these brands are new to me, and some are tried and true.
Satin Pillowcases
Kitsch has been a long time favorite brand in our home. We have tried a lot of their products over the years, but had not gotten around to their satin pillowcases.
Valentine’s Day seemed like the perfect time, especially the blush pink! This color will work with my daughters’ room decor. However, if you’d rather not pink, they also have several neutral options.
Apparently, satin pillowcases are supposed to be good for your skin and hair (so my teen tells me). Either way, they will love the luxe feel of a special fresh pillowcase.
Pajamas
I used to dress my girls in matching clothes ALL the time. Now that they are a bit older, they tolerate coordinating in public, but definitely NOT matching (cue tears!).
However, pajamas and lounge wear are an exception. They will humor me and wear matching pajamas, especially for holidays.
These adorable pink pajamas come in a range of sizes. According to the reviews, they run big. So I’m crossing my fingers the largest size fits my oldest daughter who wears a women’s small!?
Slippers
To go with the pajamas, obviously the girls need slippers! With the weather warming up in the coming months, these fuzzy open toed slippers will be a great transition piece for them to have.
Hair Accessories
This might be one of my favorite finds for this project! These hair accessories are from a darling Etsy shop called Malionne Hair. Based in LA, the company’s products are made in France. Fancy though that may sound, the price points are quite reasonable. And they shipped very quickly (fyi in case you’re a last-minute shopper!).
For their Valentine’s Day gift baskets, I chose a different hair clip or bow for each of my daughters. Then, I bought them matching girl power satin hair scrunchies. Which, by the way, coordinate perfectly with the jammies! Yay!
Books
Can’t go wrong with a good read. Since my daughters are at different reading levels, I picked an age-appropriate book for each of them.
For my teen, The Valentine’s series is highly rated. This is the first in the series (and I’m looking forward to snagging this from her when she’s finished with it!).
My tween loves graphic novels. Allergic is a newer book that has an overarching sweet storyline with a lot of heart, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Finally, for my littlest one, I had to go with Love Is. Admittedly, this is a popular choice for Valentine’s Day gift baskets for the 5 and under crowd (all over Instagram and Pinterest). But it’s easy to see why. The illustrations are perfection.
Jewelry
Be Free. That seems like a spot-on sentiment for a daughter’s Valentine’s Day gift, right? These impossibly cute bracelets are from Little Words Project, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
If “Be Free” isn’t for you, there are tons of other Valentine-appropriate bracelets in their shop. (Consider yourself warned – it’s as tempting as a candy store!)
Gift Cards
When in doubt, Starbucks gift card. Little ones can get a hot chocolate. And the older girls can order their liquid desserts (I mean, coffee. lol).
To go along with the gift card, gift this super fun set of three animal print cold beverage holders, sized perfectly to fit Starbucks cups!
I used these in the Valentine’s Day gift baskets to contain some of the smaller items. Doubles as packaging!
Nail Polish
We have a new obsession in our house with Olive & June, thanks to my daughters’ aunt. Amazingly, it does everything it promises to do – salon quality manicure at home. You can either purchase it through their website or at Target.
I picked three shades of pink and red to go in the Valentine’s baskets. Best part? We can all share (me included!).
Lip Balm
Kind Lips is another favorite find for this project. Not only is the lip balm organic and cute, a percentage of proceeds are donated to anti-bullying causes. Plus, the packaging has a reminder to say something kind after you apply. Love that!
Sunglasses
Retro heart sunglasses are a must for your daughter’s Valentine’s baskets. This style comes as a set of four. While they are pretty close to being ruled out as too holiday specific (per my ground rules), they squeezed through because of their vintage style. How cute would a sisters pic be in these!?
Bath Products
Last, bath products. I saw this Feeling Smitten line with heart-shaped confetti at Target this year and could not resist. Even though they are definitely for Valentine’s Day, they are useful enough to make the basket!
