As a mom of three girls with very different personalities, I have the full range of fear levels on my hands. My littlest is game for just about anything (yikes!), my oldest doesn’t like to be scared but tolerates it, but my middle daughter – well, she is not a fan of fright and makes sure we don’t forget it!
I had my middle daughter in mind as I was thinking about how to create a kids Halloween party that isn’t scary. By choosing softer colors and friendlier characters, a youthful and sweet party perfect for a Halloween ghouls night out, kids Halloween birthday party, Hocus Pocus party, or Monster Mash party.

This post is all about pastel Halloween party supplies.
1. Halloween Banners
Banners are a great party supply to begin with when party planning. Halloween decorations are no exception. Often, they can be the jumping off point for your color palette. That was certainly true of the adorable Halloween Felt Ball Garland. Layered with the Hey Boo letter banner and white glittery ghosts, the combination is spooktacular. (You saw that coming, right!?)
2. Balloons
Every party needs one feature statement piece. Balloon garlands and clouds are an easy option. To get a dimensional, custom look, start with the pretty pastel Halloween balloon kit and add in a silver ghost balloon on one side and black script boo balloon centered underneath.
3. Tablecloth and Centerpiece
A pastel Halloween party aesthetic needs a grounding color. In this case, black. A black and white pinstriped disposable table cover is the perfect way to incorporate this secondary color. Bonus points (or should I saw boo-nus!?) for adding an additional location with a black spiderweb table runner. Add some pink pampas grass (perhaps with fake spiders sporadically stuck to them??) in cute vases (or perhaps witches cauldrons!?) as an unexpected Halloween centerpiece, and your table setting is nearly done!
4. Plates and Napkins
As a more modern twist on Halloween place settings, you can use iridescent holographic accents as your pastel substitute, complemented by black. These geometric dinner and dessert plates from Meri Meri are some of my favorites to use in general at parties. (They come in tons of colors and patterns.) I would set the party table with the large dinner plates, and put a boo napkin on top of each. Then keep the smaller boo plates stacked near the dessert.
5. Cups, Straws, and Cutlery
Pop some more pastels into your Halloween party supplies with these frightfully cute pink ghost straws. (By the way, this Etsy shop has been featured by Oprah – you have to check out her darling shop!) Wood cutlery with pink handles add both a natural element plus more pink to the party. Lastly, plastic ghost cups with a similar design to the balloon cloud bring some cohesion.
6. Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers
Ready for some Halloween treats? A tiered cupcake stand like this iridescent one could double as a centerpiece. Stack up cupcakes adorned with black and white striped cupcake wrappers and topped with the sweetest set of festive pastel Halloween cupcake toppers!
7. Pastel Halloween Decorations
Sometimes parties need a few additional pieces of decor to take the aesthetic over the top. You could welcome guests to your Halloween party by placing this Hey Boo wood sign on your front porch or door. Mark your favor or treat table with a custom message on a coffin shaped letter board, and place a few dozen bats around the party table for a subtle touch of spookiness.
8. Small Details
The devil is in the details – like a couple touches of tiny but impactful accent Halloween decorations. Confetti sprinkled on flat surfaces or used in party invitations or thank you cards is always a fun surprise. Speaking of surprises, mini pink pumpkin pinatas are perfect Halloween party favors that can double as table decor. Lastly, cake pops that nearly perfectly coordinate with the cupcake toppers would elevate (or levitate!?) your dessert table.
9. Backdrops and Signs
Home parties offer the opportunity to add more permanent decorations, like replacing pictures on the wall to coordinate with your event. Printables on Etsy, like this haunted house or vintage quote, are usually very reasonably priced. There are tons of options, but these are what caught my eye for a pastel Halloween party aesthetic. You can also skip the traditional creepy cloth (you know, the gauze with rips) and instead opt for a trendy fringe backdrop ideal for a photobooth.
10. Party Favors
If you’re like me, you prefer to buy quality over quantity when it comes to party favors. Skip the spider rings, fake nails, and (ugh!) plastic teeth, and instead gift your party guests favors that are utilitarian but still a nod to the event theme. A knotted stretch headband is a trendy option that would work great for tweens and teens. Tie a pink boo crazy straw (sold out but will hopefully come back in stock!) to the headband with a modern favor tag for a super simple yet useful party favor for your pastel Halloween.
11. BOO Light Up Letters
Last but not least, let’s add some trendy light up letter marquees to our trendy pastel Halloween theme. These are on the smaller side – probably best for a table or shelf. Still, festive and seasonal none the less!
