If you want your Halloween table to match the “it was a dark and stormy night” vibe, then this post is for you! I set out on a mission this year to create a spooky yet elegant table setting for you – and had a frightfully good time doing so!
In this post, I’ll let you in on each aspect of this moody, Gothic-inspired All Hallows Eve tablescape, including the linens, centerpiece, place settings, and all the creepy accents (hello, skull heads!).

This post is all about Halloween table.
Napkins and Tablecloth
The base of this tablescape is a marble tablecloth. The pattern reminds me of ghosts swirling around. (Can you see it?) I found this at Home Goods (if you follow my Instagram stories, you may remember how it “fell” into my cart!) The pops of gold splatter are pretty great too. It really is a great Halloween tablecloth, without being literal. Sadly, I couldn’t seem to track down this exact one, but I’ll leave a link in the Shop the Post section below for a similar option.
Next, napkins. I adore these velvet napkins. They’ve been in my collection for a long time, but I’ll link a similar option for you. The burgundy color ties in perfectly to the dried floral centerpiece (we’ll get to that next!).
The fold is a simple one: 1) fold in half; 2) fold in half again length wise; 3) fold in half width wise. (Let me know in comments if you have an interest in a post on some simple napkin folds!)
Halloween Centerpiece
Eek! You’re going to love this centerpiece! It’s SO easy and really quick to put together.
First, use a piece of black gauze cloth and haphazardly meander it down the middle of your table. Then, add a black vase (bonus points if it looks like a witches cauldron!), and fill the vase with dried florals in moody colors. After that, flank the vase with two gold candlesticks with black tapers. Finally, scatter glass tea lights for low lighting. (p.s. BE CAREFUL with flames around dried florals!!)
The stems are all from AFloral. They do such a great job with their selection and quality. Plus, shipping is quick. You should check them out, if not for Halloween then definitely for the upcoming holiday season!
Place Settings
To get this look, start with a matte black stoneware plate. I have sung the praises of these plates LOTS of times (to name a couple: fall picnic and simple eucalyptus centerpiece tablescape). They’re affordable, durable, and THE perfect shape.
Also a blog frequenters, this set of matte gold flatware ties into the gold on the tablecloth and candlesticks, all of which add needed warmth to the table.
For stemware, add a coupe glass filled with your guests’ picks of poison.
Last but not least, your entire place setting can rest on black woven chargers that resemble spider webs. These chargers are a great price point and ship from Amazon. You can easily flex them into other non-Halloween table settings too. In fact, almost everything on the table could be incorporated into other tablescapes and have an entirely new look!
Next section is probably the exception.
Spooky Accents
Your Halloween table decor is not complete without a few spooky accents. Enter, spiders and skulls.
Scatter spiders around your table in unexpected places. In this case, they blended too much with the black table runner, but they popped perfectly against the tablecloth.
Skulls were used as a place card holder of sorts. I imagine if people were actually sitting at this table, they would move the skulls off their plates and onto the table, which will create an eerie rolling heads affect. Haunting, right!?
