Mimosa bars are a perfect addition to any spring event. In this post, I’ll share mimosa bar set up ideas and inspiration perfect for Easter brunch, Mother’s Day (mom-osas anyone!?) – or even bridal and baby showers!
Serving mimosas at an event really takes care of so many hostess duties. First and foremost, it gives your guests something to drink. Because, you know, you can’t let them go thirsty!
But it also gives your guest something to DO. Customizing their own beverage is an activity unto itself. With endless combinations, it’s a conversation starter between the guests about how they created their own bubbly concoction.
And as a side bonus, it takes some pressure off the hostess. You’re not running around pouring drinks for guests. Instead, they can happily and easily help themselves!
I wanted to show you how I would set up a mimosa bar for a spring event. I’ll show you all of the essentials I used to create this look and share my tips for how to arrange a mimosa bar that is easy and fun for your guests to use.

This post is all about mimosa bar set up ideas and inspiration for spring.
#1 Define the Mimosa Bar Set Up Space
No matter what your entertaining venue size is, defining spaces for each aspect of your event is key. This helps the party flow by cueing guests to know what to do where. (i.e. where to put gifts, where to find appetizers, where to sit, etc.). Beverages are no exception!
You may not have a buffet space like I do in this mimosa bar set up. But that’s ok! Improvise; use a section of kitchen counter, a coffee table, or even a folding table with a nice tablecloth draped over it. Be creative!
#2 Decant Juice
Okay, I’m going to be a bit snobby here. Forgive me – but you came here for tips, right!? (wink!) Please, please, PLEASE DO NOT put the actual juice container on your mimosa bar.
Instead, pour the juice into a glass carafe. The ones I used are from Target and are under $10 each. For a tiny investment, you get a HUGE elevation in the elegance of your mimosa bar.
You may be wondering – but then how do people know what kind of juice it is? Glad you asked!
Let’s solve that problem by tying a pretty tag around each carafe. Etsy is a great resource for finding cute juice carafe tags.
These tags were tied with suede leather cord. (HINT: I poured the juice into the carafe and then added the tags – to avoid ruining the tags in an accidental spill.)
TIP: Have extra juice on hand in chilling in the refrigerator so you can easily restock the mimosa bar as the carafes run low.
#3 Place Bubbly on Ice
Setting up your bubbly on ice keeps your beverages cool, but also adds some much needed height to your mimosa bar set up. You can even prop up the ice bucket a little more to create additional drama like I did here on this marble serving stand.
Knowing exactly how much bubbly to have on hand for your event can be a little tricky. My rule of thumb is to expect each guest to have two beverages.
You can typically pour five glasses of champagne per bottle. Since guests are pouring their own drinks, predicting exactly how far one bottle of bubbly will go can be difficult.
But I would just air on the side of caution and buy more than you think you’ll need. Having left overs isn’t exactly the worst thing in the world, right? Way better than running out!
To be more specific, if I were hosting this event for six guests, I would buy three bottles of champagne.
6 guests x 2 drinks = 12 glasses of champagne
12 glasses of champagne / 5 glasses per bottle = 2.4 bottles (always round up)
In case you’re on the market for an ice bucket, this is the gold one I used in this photo.
TIP: Keep an extra bottles of bubbly chilling in the refrigerator so you can quickly replace empty containers.
#4 Mimosa Bar Fruit + Garnish
Since in this mimosa bar set up we’re offering three types of juices, I offered three different toppings – raspberries, blackberries, and mint.
I put each in a cute dish. The square fruit dishes some of my favorites – really versitile. They are the perfect size for soups and salads – as I showed in this post on hosting a tropical birthday party.
TIP: Have extra fruit and garnish washed and ready in the refrigerator so you can easily replace as it runs low.
#5 Glassware + Extra Glassware
For this mimosa bar set up, I used stemless champagne flutes. While I love stemware too, these I think are a little easier for an event where guests are not at a sit down meal.
They’re also a bit more casual, perfect for a spring brunch!
TIP: Have extra clean glassware stashed somewhere out of site but easy to get to. This will allow you to quickly replenish the mimosa bar when clean glasses start running low.
#6 Pretty Botanicals
So, as I’m learning with blogging, not all plans come together. But so it goes with party planning, and we have to improvise.
I had planned to have a pretty spring bouquet on this mimosa bar. Went to the florist, purchased, arranged and everything.
But, alas, there wasn’t space. Rather than cramming it in, I opted to show you exactly how I would handle the situation in real life. Bouquet – exit stage left.
But if you do have the space, a pretty floral arrangement is always a good idea! Just try to make sure it coordinates with your party theme or color scheme.
#7 Mimosa Bar Instructions Sign
While it might seem obvious what to do, some of your guests may not know what a mimosa is. So offering a sign with step-by-step instructions is a thoughtful addition to your mimosa bar set up. As with the juice tags, Etsy is a great resource for finding lots of cute mimosa bar signs.
The frame I used is an oldie but goodie from Pottery Barn, but you can really use any frame you have around your house.
