When it comes to changing up your bar cart decor, taking cues from the season is a great starting point. In the months of fall, you can use this bar cart inspiration to take your current decor from every day to seasonal with minimal effort! Now that’s something to cheers to!
To decorate your bar cart for fall, you don’t have to run out and buy a bunch of new things. In fact, you probably have similar items already in your home (or backyard!) you can substitute.
In this post, I’ll talk you through 5 seasonal updates you can easily make to style your bar cart like a pro. As a bonus, you’ll be able to use the decorations all fall long. Rather than creating separate looks for each of the autumn holidays (which is fun too – don’t get me wrong!), this will get you from September to Thanksgiving Day!
Let’s dive in and get to the bottom of this, shall we?
This post is all about bar cart inspiration.
1. Choose Booze in Warm Fall Tones
First, go through your liquor and wine and pull out the bottles with autumnal colors. Think bourbon and red wine.
On my bar cart, I picked three bottles of bourbon and one bottle of red wine, which happened to have a very fall-ish tree label!
Depending on how large your bar cart is, you might want to choose a few more bottles. Up to you!
2. Display Gold and Copper Bar Cart Accessories
Another easy change you can make to turn your bar cart from every day to fall is to edit the bar ware accessories you have on display. Put away anything bright and summery, narrowing down to pieces that have warm tones like:
- gold
- copper
- wood
For my bar cart, I limited the accessories to just a few in gold, and one with a wood handle. Styled on a brown marble tray, they are both pretty to look at and easily accessible for practical use.
In addition, I displayed a couple mule mugs on the top of the cart. Copper is a quintessential fall color and also adds a glow to the overall design.
3. Bar Cart Decorations Inspired by Fall
Speaking of the brown marble tray, the home decor you choose for your fall bar cart doesn’t necessarily have to be specifically fall. Instead, you can use pieces that are made of material inspired by the season.
For example, the aforementioned brown marble tray. This lives on display in my home year round (most recently as a key-catcher in our mudroom). However, when paired with accessories in autumnal colors, it suddenly feels fall.
Also noteworthy: plaid napkins and cinnamon sticks. I used the tray to not only corral the bar cart accessories, but also tucked a small stack of cocktail napkins on one side and a tiny vignette of cinnamon sticks and rosemary garnish on the other. You can use utilitarian things like napkins and garnish as decor. Just arrange them thoughtfully, and you’ll be good to go!
Another idea for you is to add a woven vase with foraged branches as the floral arrangement. Your own backyard can be a great place to find a couple of twigs. Total cost: $0!
One key to using branches as floral arrangements is to pick those with lots of little branches on them. This will create movement and interest. Another tip is to make sure the branches are not all the same height. Think high, medium, low to create a balanced effect.
And if you don’t have a woven vase, any vessel in fall tones should work!
4. Add a Touch of Fall Foliage Artwork
Now here’s where I recommend you get super literal with your fall bar cart decor. By that I mean, frame art that suites the season.
On my bar cart, I chose this pretty fall foliage print from Collection Prints. I love everything Katie, the shop owner, curates. She has amazing taste, and her philosophy of changing out art in your home seasonally is brilliant.
Framed art on a bar cart is a great option to fill that awkward space between the bottom and top shelf (ha! no pun intended!) You can even prop up the frame on a stack of coffee table books if you need to fill more space.
5. Display a Pumpkin
Last but certainly not least, pumpkins. Would a fall bar cart be complete without one!?
Since there is a lot of glass and other hard material already on your cart most likely, pick a pumpkin that is made of a soft material, like the boucle one I used. This will help the overall aesthetic feel balanced and not too harsh.
