To shake things up a bit from what we typically make for brunch, I wanted to try to build a brunch board specifically for spring. However, you can take the concept of this brunch board, replace the spring ingredients and decorations with something in the season you’re currently in, and have a year-round board that will work for any occasion!
The menu for this brunch board includes simple, easy-to-assemble ingredients – so you can spend less time in the kitchen, and more time around the kitchen table with loved ones. Who doesn’t want that!?
My goal is to make your next brunch planning a little easier by not only showing you the finished brunch board but also sharing my ingredient list and links to the serveware I used. By giving you these resources, you can move on to actually enjoying the meal with your family, knowing that brunch is ready-to-go!

This post is all about how to build a brunch board for spring.
Brunch Menu
First, let’s talk menu. I am not a great cook, admittedly. Honestly, I just don’t enjoy it and prefer to do more assembling and styling than making every last thing from scratch. So, this brunch menu is fairly light on cooking, and heavier on assembling pre-made dishes.
- Build-your-own yogurt parfait
- Sausage and potato hash
- Steamed asparagus with parmesan cheese
- Hardboiled eggs
- Bagels (with cream cheese and preserves)
- Bacon
- Pastries
- Orange juice
Brunch Board Ingredient List
Before you can build your brunch board, you need to pick up the necessary ingredients. Since this board is for spring, I chose seasonal ingredients incorporated with eternal family favorites.
- Bagels
- Pastries (assortment)
- Granola
- Strawberry preserves
- Orange juice
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
- Asparagus
- Onion
- Potatoes
- Red & green bell peppers
- Cream cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- Greek yogurt
- Eggs
- Bacon
- Sausage (ground)
Prepare Ingredients
Let’s start by making the hash, since that will take the longest. This is a great recipe for hash, with the option to add a fried egg on top if you’d like. We add scrambled eggs to ours – since that is how our daughters prefer their eggs. Either way – it’s delicious! For an added boost of color and flavor, we also included sweet potatoes along with the traditional potatoes in our hash.
Next, let’s hard boil the eggs. Here is a guide for how to hard boil eggs in case you’re like me and need a reminder on how to do this. I never can remember how long to let them boil! Please tell me I’m not alone!?
Meanwhile, make your bacon and steamed asparagus. Truth-be-told, I use Costco’s microwaveable bacon. It’s magically ready in about 60 seconds without the grease splatter mess! For steamed asparagus, this is a helpful recipe for achieving that tender – but not overcooked – result. When finished, sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.
As your hot food is cooking, you can wash your berries and put them in bowls along with the granola. (This is the granola I have been loving recently.) Additionally, go ahead and put the yogurt, strawberry preserves, and cream cheese in serving bowls.
Assembling Your Brunch Board
Now that your dishes are made and other ingredients are prepped, it’s time for the fun part – assembling the board! This is the exact serve board I used. It’s 30″ long – which makes it perfect for a family meal. I’ll also link to the other serving pieces I used throughout this section.
First, under the board I used a pink check table runner. I don’t tend to decorate with a lot of pink – but I thought this would be a fun short-term table decoration for this particular springtime meal.
I always start building a board by placing the containers, since they are typically the largest elements. I try to spread them out on the board so they aren’t all clustered together. So, for this board, that would be the bowl of yogurt, ramekins of strawberry preserves and cream cheese, glass cup of bacon (how fun is the vertical display!?), and small cake stand of halved hardboiled eggs. The floral cheese knives I used in the ramekins are no longer sold, but here is an alternative that is also pretty and spring-y!
Next, I placed the bagels on the board – three on each end. Finally, I added the steamed asparagus and hash – both in two locations. I like repeating ingredients on boards of any kind. To me, the repletion creates some balance, and also makes it easier for people to serve themselves simultaneously on opposite sides of the board.
Okay, so we still have a few other ingredients that did not make it onto the board. I opted to use a separate display stand for the granola and berries, which is a great, versatile investment piece because you can easily remove the square bowls and use them as stand-alone items.
Additionally, I used a taller stand from the same collection to display a variety of pastries. Again, this is a fantastic serve ware piece. It’s reasonably priced considering that it comes with the plates that can be removed and used alone or with the stand.
Next to the pastries, I set up a glass carafe of orange juice and the prettiest floral print glasses. I found these at Anthropologie a few years ago, but here is a similar option. They are one of my favorite glassware sets to break out in the warmer months.
Finally, I set up a rattan basket to hold napkin-rolled cutlery next to the juice. This makes it easy for everyone to grab their utensils and beverages in one space.
Thanks so much for stopping by today to check out my version of a spring brunch board. I hope that it inspired you to create a similar meal to enjoy with your loved ones. If you do, please leave a comment. Would l love to know how it turned out!
