Bunny bait is a fun and easy Easter treat to make. No cooking is required (unless you count microwaving the chocolate). You can customize the bunny bait recipe in so many ways, swapping out ingredients. Then, you can serve it in a large bowl at your Easter brunch or dinner – or do what I did and divide it into food-safe cello bags, tie it with a bow, and give it as an Easter treat to family and friends!

This post is all about bunny bait recipe.
Ingredients
The ingredients for this bunny bait recipe are easy to grab at the grocery. I ordered ahead as a Target drive-up order – so convenient! I even bought the popcorn pre-popped, to make this recipe extra simple and fast.
The recipe made about 6 cups total, which evenly separated into 3 cello bags.
- 3 cups popcorn
- 2 cups Rice Chex
- 1 cup pretzel sticks
- 1/2 cup peanuts
- 1/2 cup pastel Easter M&Ms
- 1 bar white chocolate
- Easter sprinkles
Directions
In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients (except sprinkles).
Then, in a microwave-safe dish, break up the chocolate bar into small chunks and slowly melt. I started with 30 seconds and then stirred. After that, I alternated 15 seconds with stirring until the chocolate was melted. Do what works best for your microwave – you might need more or less time.
Next, pour melted chocolate over dry ingredients and fold until well-coated.
Then, spread out the coated ingredients onto a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper. Lastly, evenly distribute sprinkles on top.
Let set for about 45 minutes. Once set, break up into pieces and either serve in a bowl or package to gift!
Easter Gift: Bunny Bait Packaging
To package this cute Easter trail mix snack, I used food-safe cello bags, sized to 6″x10″. They come with gold twist ties, which I used first. Then around them, I tied a bow out of this beautiful cotton ribbon. I love the creamy color and frayed edges. You could easily tie a tag to it as well to make it even more personalized.
