With summer in full swing, I thought it would be fun to share some backyard dinner party table decor inspiration to help you prep for your next get-together. I included some new budget-friendly finds along with a few old tried and true favorites. Everything is in a neutral color palette and can easily be incorporated into other tablescapes in the future – both outdoor and indoor. Some of my favorite summer memories are around this picnic table under the trees. Time spent with friends with family is the best!

Easy Outdoor Centerpiece
Keeping it simple with these pretty fluted planters filled with greenery. The plants are actually three different types – two intended for indoor planters and one for outdoor ground cover. I will probably replant the ground cover in my garden, but I really liked the texture it added to the overall look.
Tablecloth & Napkins
Linen is a quintessential summer material to wear – and also decorate your table. I fell in love with these woven cotton napkins that feel like linen. The black edging gives it so much interest while still keeping it neutral. A simple fold with a neutral napkin ring placed on a plate is an easy low maintenance way to display them.
Then for the table itself, I used a banquet-size faux linen tablecloth to cover the entire table. Then I placed this gorgeous black and cream floral blanket at an angle for a punch of interest that is seasonal but again still neutral. I really love this blanket – the perfect summer-weight cotton – and will incorporate it into my home decor too.
Place Settings
Stoneware is perfect for outdoor dining. I’m loving the organic look of the edges of this plate. For a touch of metallic, I used gold flatware, which I’ve had for years and love. To complete the look, I added these modern square wine glasses. They come a set of 6 and are so reasonably priced.
Outdoor Woven Tray
Lastly, I placed a woven tray at the end of the table with fluted water glasses, a carafe, and a copper pitcher as vase filled with hydrangea. A tray is such a useful thing to have when you’re dining outside to carry dishes in and out of your house. This one is sold out, but here is a similar option. I also like the warmth the copper pitcher brings to the tablescape. While this one I bought at Home Goods a while ago, I’m linking a similar one for you.
